There are several ways to get involved in the local Conservatives, whether you want to join as a member, join us on the doorstep (when possible), deliver leaflets, attend fundraising and social events, help shape our manifesto through the Conservative Policy Forum or much more, any support is greatly appreciated.

If you are interested in getting involved with the Lewisham West & Penge Conservative Association then please get in touch.

Membership And How To Join

Lewisham West & Penge Conservative Association is a voluntary organisation run by local people. Our principle objective is to promote the Conservative cause and to secure the election of Conservative candidates to Parliament, the Greater London Assembly and Mayor and the London Borough of Bromley. Members’ subscriptions and fundraising events are used entirely to this end.

Full Members

Full Membership of the Conservative Party is £25 per person a year (£5 if under 23).

Full membership entitles you to participate in all decisions taken by the Party at national, regional and local level. These include the postal ballot for the election of the Leader of the Conservative Party, the selection of Parliamentary, Borough Council, GLA and London Mayor Candidates and, at the AGM of the Beckenham Association, the Chairman and other officers.

  • Membership also brings the right to apply to be nominated as a candidate for Parliament, the GLA or London Borough of Bromley as an official Conservative candidate.
  • Details of all events run by the Lewisham West & Penge Conservative Association and priority booking.

The Conservative Policy Forum (CPF):

The CPF is a vehicle for members to influence the next Conservative manifesto as well as share your thoughts on current affairs. We hold regular CPF meetings on set topics and submit the minutes of the meeting as well as discussed ideas to the national CPF which are then produced in a summary of the topic to be reviewed by a Minister.

To find out more about the CPF please visit their website - https://www.conservativepolicyforum.com/

Campaigning:

Campaigning can take many forms, from more traditional means such as knocking on doors or delivering leaflets (when restrictions lift) to sharing content on social media or displaying a poster in your window at election time.

You can also help our campaigns by volunteering for administrative help such data entry and stuffing envelopes.

No matter the form, all our campaigners are volunteers wanting to make a difference to their community.

Attending Events:

In normal times we also hold a number of events throughout the year, from drinks receptions with MP’s and other guest speakers to debates and social gatherings. These events are mostly fundraisers to raise the money we need to support our work and campaigns as well as being a great opportunity to many different people from all different walks of life.
